|Ode To Art Marina Bay Sands, Singapore|
|Date: 14 Oct - 31 Oct 2011|
Ode To Art is pleased to invite you to Marina Bay Sands on 14 October to attend Inner Dawning: A Solo Exhibition by Hong Zhu An, one of the most renowned Chinese artists based in Singapore today. This rare and refreshing experience will showcase a myriad of his accomplished works over the past two years.
Hong is the recipient of major awards in Singapore such as the UOB Painting of the Year Grand Award, and his works are collected by major museums and organizations around the world. Some notable establishments include Asian Art Museum of San Francisco; The Tel Aviv Museum of Art; The Singapore Art Museum, The National Art Gallery Philippines; and The Spencer Museum of Art. He was also one of the featured artists in the Second Beijing International Art Biennale, China, in 2005 as well as the 5th International Ink painting Biennale of Shenzhen, China, in 2006.
Come and encounter an inner dawning through Hong Zhu An's distinctive style of combining traditional Chinese painting with calligraphic strokes, via layers of pigment upon rice paper and canvas.
"Despite the absence of bright colours and prominent subjects in the work of Hong Zhu An, the artist is able to captivate his viewers whom he gently draws into his artistic realm, encouraging them to delve into their own rich imagination. This process is undoubtedly the result of his excellent technique, ability to accurately express his feelings artistically, and more importantly, all-rounded knowledge and cultivation as an artist."
- Professor Shao Da Zhen, Central Art Academy
